I’ve had a smile on my face for the last three weeks, I met someone and he’s been amazing! We’ve been talking every day for weeks now and he really gets me – it’s been so long since I’ve felt this way. He’s funny and smart and laughs at my weird jokes, and I laugh at his.
Tonight he invited me out to go bowling, what a cool date idea – it’s not a bar, or your typical date night, and we had a blast!!! We went back to his house afterwards for a nightcap, and I thought – this could maybe be going somewhere.
Then once we get to his house he tells me that he’s really not interested in a relationship, and he probably should have told me sooner, he’s sorry that he didn’t. In reality, he hadn’t made me any promises and didn’t owe me a thing, I guess I’m lucky that he told me how he felt so soon. But I cried the whole way home from his house.
For the first time in a very long while I had been hopeful, I really liked this guy and I thought the feeling was mutual. At this point I’m not sure if the problem was me or him (I’m pointing at him!) but either way, it hurts, way more than I expected. I honestly didn’t have too much invested in this, and I refuse to dwell on it too much, but I was so hopeful that I now feel pretty stupid.
Was I reading it all wrong? Was it all in my own head? I really don’t think so. I think I found a good one who also happens to be a “runner”, someone who skips out when things get real. And that’s okay. His loss right? Thank you, next!
